Home to approximately 35,000 residents, Brentwood hosts a well-educated population of professionals and executives and celebrities. The community sits amidst the equally affluent enclaves of Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica and Bel-Air. More than two-thirds of Brentwood’s residents have college degrees and over fifty percent have graduate or professional degrees.
Originally developed in the 1880’s as part of a residential community called Westgate, it was annexed by the City of Los Angeles in 1916. Today, its three prosperous boulevards – Wilshire, San Vicente and Sunset – are a mix of commercial and residential use. While upscale apartments and condominiums line the thoroughfares, Brentwood’s neighborhoods include modest single-family homes and gated multi-million-dollar estates.
The community’s public schools are within the Los Angeles Unified School District and there are 5 private schools
